ILGIN SEZER - PRESIDENT

 

Ilgin Sezer is a native of Ankara, Turkiye. She received her B.A. degree from American Culture and Literature at Bilkent University. She participated to University of California Berkley’s International Marketing Diploma extension program in 2002 and moved to Minneapolis, MN after completion. In 2010, she earned her Master’s Degree in Communications and 2012, Post Secondary Teaching Certificate from Bethel University. Ilgin enjoys working with different cultures from all age groups. She received her GMS-T (Global Mobility Specialist and Talent Management) certificate in 2014 to successfully work with inbound and outbound Expats and Permanent Transfers.

 

During her education, she continued to work with Expats and taught Turkish language at Berlitz. She also completed her internship as Adjunct Professor at Bethel University, was teaching Intercultural Communication, and Family Communication to first- and second-year students. For more than six years, she worked as Global Mobility Specialist at global companies, worked voluntarily at international and cultural events. Since 2017, she has been working as Sr Compensation Analyst.

 

Ilgin has served as Social Chair of the TAAM Board of Directors since 2015, organized many events for members and guests such as October 29th Republic Day Celebration Dinner, April 23rd Children’s Day, Volunteer Appreciation picnics, Fall gatherings – boat trips and more. Her biggest goal in her role is introducing Turkish culture and language by planning more inter-cultural events and giving more responsibilities to our young generation within these events to represent Turkiye and TAAM. She also enjoyed teaching Turkish language and culture to youths at Turkish school and looking forward to actively participating next term.

 

Ilgin is living in Eden Prairie, MN with her husband Nahit, two sons (Derin- 14 and Alaz-10) and two doodles (Baldo-7 and Vino-2).
