DEFNE DENIZ MENCELOGLU - STUDENT REPRESANTATIVE

Defne Deniz MenceloÄŸlu was born and raised in Ä°stanbul. She came to Minnesota in August of 2019 to study for a bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in sustainability studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is expecting to graduate in Spring 2024 and hopes to continue her studies and pursue a doctoral degree. Defne is currently the president of the Turkish cultural club at the University, Turkish American Student Association (TASA). They are a relatively small group, but their size helps them get to know their members well and form tight-knit friendships. Outside of her commitments at the university, Defne enjoys being in the kitchen, specifically baking, and listening to audiobooks while playing games on her phone.
